“My feet were having weird sensations, constant pain, my balance was off, and the bottoms of my feet were hot and sore.”
If this sounds familiar, you are not alone.
As we age, changes in nerve health become increasingly common. Symptoms such as numbness, tingling, burning, weakness, and pain—most often in the feet and hands—can affect balance, mobility, sleep, and overall quality of life. Peripheral neuropathy may develop due to aging, diabetes, chemotherapy, injury, or circulation changes, yet many people are often told there is little that can be done.
In this informative session, we will explore:
• What peripheral neuropathy is and how it develops
• Common symptoms and stages of nerve damage
• Possible causes and risk factors
• What may be considered normal changes vs. warning signs in nerve health as we age
• Prognosis and treatment options
The presentation will also introduce how acupuncture may support nerve function and pain relief. Acupuncture works by improving circulation, calming and regulating the nervous system, and enhancing communication between the nerves, spinal cord, and brain.
Participants will learn how acupuncture and supportive lifestyle strategies may help reduce nerve pain, improve sensation and balance, and support nerve healing over time. These approaches offer a non-invasive, non-drug option for managing peripheral neuropathy and chronic nerve pain—helping older adults move more comfortably, stay active, and maintain independence.
Join us for this engaging session designed to help you better understand nerve health and explore practical ways to support your well-being.
