A DAY TO CELEBRATE SENIORS!
On Thursday, June 6th, we hosted our 27th annual Older, Bolder, Better Tradeshow & Symposium. It was another fantastic event as over 350 older adults came to meet with vendors, watch some entertainment, enjoy good food, and hear some presentations!

Our entertainment was provided by Jing Ying Martial Arts , who performed a Chinese Lion Dance for us. It was really entertaining to watch the performers who made the lions move and look so life-like!
OUR AMAZING VOLUNTEERS
Our organization is very fortunate to have an army of volunteers are one of the reasons our OBB event is so successful. We simply would not be able to host our signature event if it wasn’t for their help. So, we are sending a huge “THANK YOU” to:
- Our front desk ladies manned the desk and phones all day,
- Our greeters who handed out our business directories and programs
- The volunteers who helped make sure our vendors got set up and had everything they needed to have a successful event
- Our 50/50 ticket sellers who helped us sell over $700 in tickets
- Our kitchen volunteers who helped make and package lunches for our vendors and then took orders and served lunch to the attendees
- The fundraising committee who sold tickets for our Ring Raffle and
- The volunteers who stayed after the event to help us tear down tables and clean up so we would be ready to offer our regular programming the next day

Each year our tradeshow features our Friends of WSAC partners, our local politicians, non-profit organizations, and businesses that serve older adults here in Edmonton. The vendors had some fantastic resources for our attendees and it seemed like all of the tables had some treats and door prizes up for grabs. We had hosted a business mixer the evening before OBB to give the vendors a chance to visit and meet each other. Over 50 people attended the mixer that featured some yummy appetizers prepared by Chef Stu and his team.
