MISERICORDIA HOSPITAL KINDERGARTEN TOUR VOLUNTEER
The Misericordia Hospital is looking for a senior to volunteer with their hospital Kindergarten Tours. The Kindergarten Tours for students aims to remove the fear for children when visiting hospitals.
- The Kindergarten classes comes on their appointed dates and a K-Tour Volunteer leads them through specific places in the hospital:
- The Emergency Department – where they get the opportunity to wear “Baby” stethoscopes and listen to the heartbeat of a manikin
- Radiology where they see the X Ray machine and get to lie down in the cot as if an X Ray will be run through them; then look at X Ray plates
- Orthopedic Department where they get the chance to put a cast on their little finger to show to their parents
- The NICU where they see a tiny baby (if one is available)
The Mis is in need of some steady volunteers who can lead this throughout the school year. Weekday morning and afternoon shifts available.
