FRESH FOR FOODIES – It Was Fantastic!

“We attended the Fresh for Foodies lunch today (Nov 9). The food was excellent, the serving size generous and the company wonderful, as it always is at our Senior Center.  We are certainly waiting for the next one, whenever it is.  This was a very worthwhile luncheon and should absolutely be repeated!”

On Thursday, November 9th, we hosted our 1st ever Fresh For Foodies event.  Over 40 people were in our Community Cafe, enjoying freshly made homemade Salisbury Steak, potatoes, and fresh vegetables, prepared by our Red Seal Chef Stu and his team.

Our Executive Director, Dr. Haidong Liang approached Chef Stu a few months ago with the suggestion that we should offer a special meal in our Cafe and then offer that same freshly made meal as a take out item for those who were not going to be able to join us in the Cafe.  Alway one to embrace new ideas, Chef Stu and his team were on board!

Lots of our members took advantage of the “take out” option and took home a fresh meal that they could either heat up and eat this evening or store it in their freezer for a later date.
