ETS Paper Tickets and Passes Sales End on November 9

As Arc, the regional electronic fare payment system, is being implemented for the remaining ETS rider groups, ETS will discontinue sales of ETS fare products later this fall.

Starting November 9, the following fare products will no longer be available for purchase through the Edmonton Service Centre, the ETS online fare store, phone sales or retail outlets:

  • 10 ticket packs
  • Family/Day passes
  • Monthly paper transit passes (Adult, Youth/Student, Senior, Ride Transit and Edmonton International Airport)

ETS will continue to accept adult, youth and senior paper tickets with an expiry date of December 31, 2023, as valid fare until December 31, 2025. Family/Day passes with an expiry date of 2024 will also be accepted as valid fare until the end of 2025. Cash fare and paper transfers will continue to be a valid form of payment on ETS.

The November 2024 monthly transit pass will be the last ETS paper monthly pass sold to riders. Riders who purchase ETS monthly passes must switch to Arc starting December 1.

Switch to Arc today!

Arc, the regional electronic payment system, will replace the outgoing Edmonton transit fare products. Arc allows riders to pay for transit when and how they use it. With Arc, riders can:

  • Tap on and off buses and LRT without needing to carry exact change or paper tickets and passes.
  • Sign up, check their balance and add money to their Arc accounts anytime, anywhere, including online, by phone, at transit facilities or at participating Arc retailers.
  • Load as little as $4 – or as much as they need – to their Arc accounts using credit, debit or cash.
  • Avoid paying upfront for a monthly pass. Fare caps ensure that once riders reach the ETS daily or monthly maximum amount, they can use ETS for the rest of the day or month for free, respectively.

Arc is available for all ETS riders and is the primary fare payment system for ETS.

For ETS riders who have not yet made the transition to Arc, learn more about Arc by visiting myArc.ca, calling the Arc call centre at 1-888-302-0001, or visiting an in-person service centre or a participating Arc retailer.
