HEARING MATTERS

General types of hearing loss can be described as congenital (hereditary) or acquired. A congenital hearing loss is one that is present at, or soon after birth. An acquired hearing loss occurs later in life and may be caused by factors such as work environment, other noisy places, and activities or other medical conditions. Depending on which part of the hearing system is affected, hearing loss is categorized as conductive, sensorineural, or a mixture of both.

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I SUSPECT THAT I HAVE HEARING LOSS?

The best thing you can do for yourself and those around you is to book a hearing test with us.
You may not realize the extent of what you are missing in the world around you because hearing loss is a gradual process. Better hearing makes listening less stressful and can improve relationships with friends and family. Hearing aids may be visible, but a hearing loss and saying, ‘pardon me?’ all the time, are much more noticeable!
