WOOL AND YARN DONATIONS
Winter will be here before we know it, and the cold chill is already creeping into our hearts and homes! In Edmonton, many individuals and families are bracing themselves for the frigid temperatures, and they could use a helping hand in the form of warm clothing and cozy blankets. This is where you come in!
Our dedicated team of volunteers has been tirelessly working throughout the year, knitting and crocheting a plethora of warm garments to be donated to those in need. Their passion is infectious and their commitment, inspiring! However, we are currently facing a challenge—we are running low on the essential materials that power their creativity. Yes, we’re talking about wool and yarn! To keep our knitters busy crafting those snug hats, mitts, and blankets, we need your help!
Here’s what we’re looking for:
- Usable balls of wool/yarn: Before you drop off your leftover yarn from that project you never finished, check that it’s a usable amount—tiny scraps just won’t cut it for our projects!
- Usable types of wool/yarn: Think along the lines of materials ideal for warm, closely stitched items! The thicker and cozier, the better!
- Donations from smoke-free and pet-free homes: We want our beneficiaries to receive the best quality items, so we kindly ask for donations from homes that are smoke-free and pet-free, if possible.
Your contributions can spark joy and warmth in the hearts of those who need it the most this winter.
If you have any yarn or wool to spare, please reach out to us at 780 483 1209. Let’s work together to weave a web of warmth for our community!
