Keeping an Eye on Your Meds: A Guide for Healthy Vision as You Age
Presented by Terra Losa Pharmacy
As people age, they are more likely to take multiple medications for various health conditions. While these medications are often essential, many can have unintended effects on eye health. Common drugs such as antihistamines, antidepressants, blood pressure medications, and steroids may cause or worsen eye problems like dry eye, blurred vision, cataracts, glaucoma, or even retinal damage.
Older populations are especially vulnerable due to age-related changes in their eyes and the higher likelihood of pre-existing vision issues. The talk will focus on recognizing the potential risks, understanding common symptoms, safe use and storage of medications and tips in preventing medication-related eye complications.
2:30 to 3:15 p.m.
