Older Bolder Better 2025 – Volunteer Positions Now Open
Older Bolder Better is our biggest fundraising event of the year, and we are very excited to host it again this year on Thursday, June 5, 2025. We are looking for assistance from our volunteers in many different areas to make it a fantastic event. Have a look at the available positions and see what would be a good fit for you. You can sign up through our website or at the centre on the volunteer board.

Pre-Event Set up & Business Mixer
WSAC asks all of the businesses to set up the night before OBB. In addition, we host a Business Mixer so after the businesses set up their tables, they will join others for light snacks and beverages.
Duties
- check them in on the attendance sheet and
- direct the businesses to their tables where they will be setting up for OBB
Shifts Available
- Volunteer shift is 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

We have a variety of volunteer positions that are needed throughout the OBB event. We hope you will review the positions below and find something you would like to do.
Greeter
Duties
- Direct businesses to gym
- Hand out business directories
- Answer questions
Shifts available
- 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. OR
- 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m
50/50 and Lunch ticket sellers
Duties
- We will be selling 50/50 tickets throughout the day as well as pre-selling lunch tickets to avoid line ups in the cafe.
- There will be two locations – the games room and outside the gym – with 2 volunteers at each location per shift
- Cashier position – processing cash and credit card payments
- Ticket handler – will fill out the purchaser information on tickets

- 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. OR
- 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
WSAC Information Table
Duties
- Direct vendors to gym
- Hand out business directories
- Answer questions
Shifts available
- 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. OR
- 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Coffee Helpers
Duties
- Making coffee, ensuring all condiments and supplies are kept replenished through the day.
- We will have a coffee station in the cafe as well as in the games room with one volunteer assigned to each station per shift
- Clean up of coffee station at end of day for 12:30-2:30 pm shift

- 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. OR
- 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. OR
- 12:30 p.m.to 2:00 p.m.
Food Prep
Duties
- Preparing vendor meals
- Preparing food for lunchtime sales
Shifts available
- 9:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.
Vendor Lunch Delivery
Duties
- Organize and delivery lunches to vendor tables
Shifts available
- 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Food Service
Duties
- Taking meal tickets and serving lunch
Shifts available
- 11:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Clean Up
Duties
- Assist with putting away tables and chairs throughout the centre
- 6 volunteers needed
Shifts available
- 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Floater
Duties
- Checking in with other volunteers who can’t leave their stations to see if they need a change for their floats, bathroom breaks, coffee etc.
- 1 volunteer needed per shift
Shifts available
- 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 am OR
- 11:00 am to 12:30 pm OR
- 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
