The Board of Directors Needs You!
Have you started thinking about your New Year’s Resolutions for 2024 yet? Too early? How about adding running for WSAC’s Board of Directors? Not your usual resolution? Think about it. We want to be on your list.
By serving on the Board, you will help your fellow members, your fellow artists & crafters, your fellow yoga mates, and/or your fellow pickle ballers. The list is endless. Your life, your work experience, your knowledge is priceless. We want and need your great ideas, your vision, your passion, your wisdom.
We hope you will think about sharing it with us by running for the Board of Directors at the March 2024 annual general meeting.

$45 … 45 Years.
This year, Westend Seniors Activity Centre (WSAC) celebrates 45 years as an independent, visionary, active organization …and we invite you to join us!
Since day one – August 1, 1978 to be exact – WSAC has been an independent non-profit organization. It is not, nor has it ever been, a City of Edmonton-run entity!
Our roots are deep in the community – we began when a group of engaged and ingenious seniors saw the need for a community organization that fit their unique interests and needs as they aged. They wanted to stay close to their community where they raised their families.
They called themselves the Edmonton Self Starters Organization, rolled up their sleeves and got to work. Members like you built on their vision to create this organization. It now serves thousands of seniors in Edmonton’s west end ensuring they can access the programs and amenities they need to live happy, healthy lives here in their community.
We need your financial support to keep carrying on.
Membership fees and revenue from programs only go so far – so we invite you to invest in WSAC with a donation of $45. If each member invests this amount, we’ll reach our goal…and then some!

- A one-time donation*
- Purchasing products through initiatives like our Holiday Plant fundraiser
- Purchasing tickets for 50/50 draws and raffles
- Attending fundraising events
*Tax receipts are issued for donations over $10
We’ll have other opportunities this year – and any support you can give is appreciated!
Your donation will keep WSAC healthy, strong, and here. Here, so you can keep taking the great programs you love and using the services you need.
