WSAC is governed by a Board of Directors, responsible for planning the future of the organization, setting its by-laws and policies and reviewing its current operations as structured by the Executive Director.
To perform those duties the Board operates a number of standing and ad-hoc committees. The participation of non-board members on some of these committees contributes additional knowledge and expertise to the organization.
Often members with expertise in a certain area or a strong interest in a particular committee, volunteer to sit on a committee and gain experience in the governance of the organization. This is a great opportunity to contribute to the WSAC operation and is often the first step members take in considering joining the Board of Directors.
If you enjoy the challenge of leadership, the companionship of like-minded individuals and the opportunity to contribute to a great organization, please consider the opportunities available on committees.
Committees for consideration are:
● Planning Committee
● Policy & Bylaw
● Government Liaison
Any Board Member would be pleased to discuss these positions with you.
