You’re Invited to The Gathering Place

A compassionate community for widows of all ages, cultures, and backgrounds

Losing a husband changes life in profound ways—but you don’t have to walk this journey alone. The Gathering Place is a welcoming space where widows can come together to share encouragement, friendship, hope, and compassion.

Whether your loss is recent or years past, you’ll find understanding hearts and meaningful connections here. Together, we’ll support one another, form new friendships, and take steps forward with strength and grace.

Just come and join the group for great conversation, a few laughs, and the support we can give to each other.

Thursday, April 16 (See Note Below), 1:30 pm – The Gathering Place. This is our usual third-Thursday gathering, especially for widows, in the WSAC Community Café at Westend Seniors Activity Center, 9629 176 Street. Thursdays, April 9 and April 16, The Gathering Place, Community Cafe – WSAC will be hosting a two-part series on Seniors Residences in Edmonton and surrounding areas. There will be a number of presenters providing information on various options, and there will be a number of opportunities to tour the facilities. I’d strongly recommend that you consider attending these two events so we have the information we need about our choices for our next home. Plan to check in at the Center for more up-to-date information about their drop-in programs and for the Active Aging series. There’s always something interesting coming up!

NOTE: Gathering Place Friends – Since our usual gathering time and space will be occupied by this event, we’ll check in with the Center for a possible alternate gathering place if you should choose not to attend the event but wish to gather for a visit.
