- Tickets are $23.00 for members and $25.00 for non-members

- Ticket sales start Monday, November 18 at 9:00 a.m.
We will enjoy a turkey meal catered by the Jasper Place High School Culinary Arts Program and will be joined by an elementary school class after lunch to enjoy holiday songs from the WSAC choir, a reading of Mavie’s Mitten Tree story and perhaps even a visit from a special visitor. The children will then all get to choose a pair of mittens from Mavie’s tree.
As always, there will be door prizes and a 50/50 draw.
MAVIE’S MITTEN TREE – A TRADITION
Mavie, one of our long-time volunteers who turned 102 this year, started this initiative over 20 years ago with a small group of knitters donating hats and mitts to people in need. It has grown exponentially since then and we are now sending out donations each year to more than 15 schools along with other organizations such as the Edmonton Garrison Family Centre and the Jasper Place Wellness Centre.
KNITTED DONATIONS
We will be sorting all centre donations the first week of December so if you have any hand-knit hats, mitts, scarves, etc. that you would like to donate, please drop off at WSAC by the last week of November.

Our centre has had a long term relationship with Servus Credit Union’s Westgate location. They have sponsored our Mavie’s Mitten Tree event for several years.
