Heart Valve Disease – It’s Common, Serious, But Treatable

Your heart might be trying to tell you that you have heart valve disease. It’s common, serious, but treatable. Symptoms can include breathlessness, dizziness & fatigue, but sometimes there can be no symptoms at all. Having a regular stethoscope check could be the first step in the detection of heart valve disease.  Understand heart valve disease, its implications for seniors, common symptoms, and treatment options.

The Presenter:
Dr. Ben Tyrrell MD FRCPC

Dr. Tyrrell completed medical school at the University of Western Ontario, Internal Medicine and Cardiology at the University of Alberta. He subsequently trained in a Structural Heart Fellowship at Northwestern University in Illinois. He joined the Royal Alexandra Hospital in 2008 and has been active in leadership roles including CICU, Cardiac Catherization Lab, site lead of medical education, and director of the TAVI Program.
