Community Spirit Gets the Job Done!
If you have taken a stroll on the deck recently, you may have noticed a bright, fresh new look—the deck painting is officially complete!
This wonderful project was set in motion thanks to May Frizzell, who successfully secured a grant to fully fund the repainting. With the funding locked in, the project quickly became a true team effort across our community.
We owe a huge thank you to the WE Seniors Men’s Shed, who generously donated their time and muscle to sand down the deck, getting the surface perfectly prepped. Then, on the morning of Sunday, August 29th, 2026, more magic happened. May was joined by 13 dedicated WE Seniors Members—making a fantastic crew of 14—who rolled up their sleeves, picked up their brushes, and got to work.
The energy and community spirit were vibrant throughout the morning, turning what could have been a tough chore into a fun, rewarding gathering.
A heartfelt thank you to May, the Men’s Shed, and every single one of our 13 senior volunteers for your hard work and dedication. Your effort has given our shared space a fantastic facelift for everyone to enjoy!
