Share Your Family Photo

This meeting will see members of the WSAC Genealogy Group make a brief presentation on a chosen member or family event that is of significance to them. Members are asked to submit a photograph of someone from their family’s past who is significant to them and “tell their story” as to why they were selected. Each member will submit a photograph of their selected individual which will be projected for other members to view during their presentation.
A Follow-up on the Family History Fair

This meeting is a follow-up to our attendance at the Family History Fair hosted by the LDS Church of Edmonton and the Edmonton Alberta Genealogical Society in October.
Six members will speak on eleven topics: Using Family Search, Organization Strategies of Research material, Elevating Cemetery Sleuthing, Protecting Sensitive Information, Cracking Crimes with your DNA, Creating an Ethical Will, and Writing Your Life Story, A Gift to Generations.
The Harvest Excursions and Women on the Prairies

This meeting deals with the waves of men and women brought to the Prairies between 1901 and 1929 to assist with the annual fall harvest, many of whom remained on the Prairies as homesteaders. Also, the efforts of the Canadian Government and the Railways to deal with the shortfall of women coming to the Prairies.
Diseases, Illnesses and Remedies

This meeting deals with the variety of diseases and illnesses that people faced during the 19th and early 20th centuries, and the remedies and medications that were used to alleviate and hopefully cure victims of these illnesses.
