MEET NEERU PRASHAR – YOGA INSTRUCTOR
Neeru considers herself a lifelong student of Yoga and Vedanta and loves sharing the ancient and holistic teachings of yoga the way she has learned from her teachers. Yoga has been a part of her life for almost 25 years, while growing up in India she got the opportunity to learn from different teachers. Her passion for sharing these teachings took her to Kaivalyadhama, India where she learnt from some of the best and most experienced teachers.
For the past few years, she has been learning under Gitananda Yoga/Rishi Culture Ashtanga yoga, a lineage based on tantra and South Indian Shaivaism. It has exposed her to some of the unique practices. She continues to learn under the lineage of Dr. Ananda Balyogi Bhavnani. She also feels blessed to study Vedanta (non-dualistic) philosophy with Swami Brahmanishtananda in Edmonton on an ongoing basis.
Neeru is a certified advanced yoga teacher from the Indian Yoga Association and has completed 500 hours of teacher training from the Yoga Association of Alberta.
She has been sharing yoga practices and a variety of classes in Edmonton for almost a decade. Neeru has spoken at wellness conferences, written articles for yoga magazines and led various philosophy and pranayama sessions as a trainer in the teacher training programs. She has been teaching at WSAC for 5 years and many of her participants are growing in their own yoga journey.
