Highlights of the Trip

  • The Victoria Trail: Wind along the North Saskatchewan River on a path used for centuries by Indigenous peoples, fur traders, and early settlers. It’s the ultimate “scenic route” with deep roots.
  • The Victoria Settlement: Founded in 1862, this site was a bustling hub of Methodist mission work and the Hudson’s Bay Company trade.
  • The Clerk’s Quarters: Step inside the oldest building in Alberta still standing on its original foundations (built in 1864!).
  • Living History: Experience what life was like in the 1860s through costumed interpreters and preserved structures that tell the story of the Métis and pioneer families.
