FITMINDS™ – STAY SHARP PROGRAMS (Calendar)

Exercising Our Minds for Better Brain Fitness

FitMinds™ is a proud collaboration between We Seniors and Chartwell Hawthorn, our Friends of We Seniors partner – An intellectually engaging program in a welcoming social setting that encourages the building of cognitive resilience and helps reduce the risk of dementia.
Designed especially for adults 55+, this eight-week program supports brain health in fun, meaningful, and practical ways.

 

Program Details

  • Location: Chartwell Hawthorn –  6411 199 St NW, Edmonton
  • Dates: 8 Thursdays (starting February 12 till April 2, 2026)
  • Time: 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
  • Cost: Free (Members only!)
  • Refreshments: Tea, water, and a light snack included

We are open late on Tuesdays and Thursdays – 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

 

COME JOIN US!

Each 90-minute session includes:
  • 30 minutes of engaging, lecture-style learning
  • 60 minutes of interactive activities such as puzzles, memory recall, storytelling, problem solving, and computation

 

FitMinds™ is built around five key pillars of a healthy lifestyle:
  • Nutrition
  • Socialization
  • Mental Stimulation
  • Spirituality
  • Physical Activity

 

To support brain growth and overall wellbeing, participants are encouraged to:
  • Do 30 minutes of “Sit and Be Fit” exercise 4–5 times per week
  • Stay well hydrated (about 1 cup of water per 20 lbs of body weight)
  • Engage in at least 30 minutes of daily mental stimulation that is new and challenging
Each participant will receive a weekly take-home booklet to support continued learning, reflection, and practice between sessions.
