WSAC Genealogy Meeting – Wednesday, April 1st, 2026
LEARNING MOMENT:
Our April 1,26 meeting was off-sight at the Alberta Provincial Archives at 8555 Roper Road. It was intended as a research day for members looking up information and resources on their Alberta family.
The Archives provided us with a introductory overview of the resources available in the library, how to access them, the availability of assistance and the procedures/costs for obtaining copies of documents.
The meeting ran from 1:00 pm until close at 4:30 pm and most of the time was spent with individual research.
UPCOMING MEETING:
Wednesday May 6 2026: The meeting will be facilitated by Ashley Rother who will speak on the topic of “Googling for Grandma” – the power of Google when researching, places to find a woman’s maiden name, and other research avenues.
