It’s that time of year again. Our 6th Annual Holiday Market is coming up on Saturday, November 15 and we need your help. This is a fun-filled day of holiday shopping with a great variety of vendors and different positions and times for volunteers to assist.

I understand that although Westend Seniors Activity Centre endeavours to provide competent leadership and instruction for the volunteer work I am doing, it cannot warrant in any way, their competency or professionalism.

I hereby release Westend Seniors Activity Centre from any liability arising out of my participation.

Code of Conduct*
Volunteers at Westend Seniors Activity Centre have the responsibility to adhere to the Code of Conduct for WESAC, as set out below.
- Always act with fairness, honesty, integrity and openness; respect the opinions of others and treat all with equality and dignity without regard to gender, race, place of origin, religion, age or sexual orientation.
- Promote the mission and objectives of WSAC in all dealings with the public.
- Be respectful – treat one another with respect. You may not always agree, but disagreement is no excuse for poor behaviour and poor manners. We all might experience some frustration now and then, but we cannot allow that frustration to turn into a personal attack.
- When you are unsure, ask for help. Your immediate supervisor is there to assist you. This will avoid misunderstandings and problems that may develop down the road.
- Abusive language - towards a staff member, other volunteers and our members will not be tolerated.
- Communicate positively with each other - negativity breed negativity
- Provide a positive and valued experience for those receiving service.
- Adhere to the policies as outlined in your volunteer handout.
- Respect and maintain the confidentiality of information gained as a volunteer.
- While on assignment for WSAC, volunteers will not represent themselves as other than a volunteer for WSAC
- Volunteers are required to inform their immediate supervisor if they are unable to fulfil their duties on a given day. At least 24 hours notice is desirable if possible.
