The tools available to individual retired investors for income investing are growing at a very rapid pace. Currently many of the strategies once used only by the major pension funds and high net worth investors, are now being offered at much lower thresholds for investing.

One of the more popular investment assets being mentioned in investing publications, are the use of Structure Notes, and specifically Auto Callable notes within that category.

Auto – Callables are financial instruments that combine features of both bonds and options. These hybrid securities are structured in such a way that they offer investors the potential for enhanced income returns and some level of principle protection while also providing the issuer with a degree of flexibility.
