Klinker Brick old vine Zinfandel  USA

Tasting Notes: The Klinker Brick Old Vine Zinfandel 2016 is an excellent, classy Zinfandel. The color is a barely see-thru, concentrated black cherry red. The nose is extracted red berries, toasted vanilla, baking spice, chocolate milk, orange zest, raspberry, and pomegranate. This is a Zinfandel with a soft mouthfeel and a mix of rounded and edgy flavors. It starts with rounded black cherry, black pepper, dark chocolate, slightly sharp spice, and plum. The mid-palate adds licorice, cold coffee, and cherry. The tannins are soft and sweet and the acidity allows the flavors to unfold. The finish is large and long. This is a delicious Zinfandel that was produced with all the production techniques the winemaker deemed necessary, no shortcuts, nothing to speed up the process. Just old-school Lodi Zinfandel.

Gran Emotivo rosso  Italy

Tasting Notes: On the nose ripe fruits, think as plums and raisins with pleasant notes of spices and vanilla present themselves. The palate is rich and bold with very ripe, red fruit flavours. A solid structure and beautiful balance between soft tannins and lifted acidity. An excellent wine for roasts, red meats and hard cheeses.

Bodegas Volver Tarima Hill Estate Bottled Old Vines Monastrell 2017 15% abv.  D.O. Alicante, Spain

Tasting Notes: Bodegas Volver was founded in 2004. The philosophy of the bodega is based on recovering old indigenous vineyards which, either through low production or lack of generational succession, had been lost. The Monastrell vines used for this wine were planted between 1935 – 1970. Eye: deep garnet/black coffee with heavy dark magenta rim. Nose: loam, plums, black licorice, black currant. Palate: medium full body with plum, baked fig, blackberry. Fine integrated tannins. Good length on a finish that carries an espresso note. Drink now – 2024. Pair grilled meats, hard cheese, Panini.
