Lorena Smalley

We have had so many generous donations of books, puzzles, yarn, etc. over the last couple of years that we have been busting at the seams. We are very thankful to everyone who brought these items in and helped to keep seniors busy and connected during our shutdown. We had so many items come in that when it came time to move things back down to the library or the yarn storage areas, we didn’t know where to put it all. Over the last couple of months, we have been working to organize everything and re-donate some items to the community. We also did a puzzle and book sale at OBB that brought in about $90. Until we have the opportunity to find a place for everything and put everything in its place, we will only be accepting the following donations:

  • We welcome all USABLE donations or yarn – balls at least 4” in diameter if they are single or
  • 2 ½ ” in diameter if there is more than one of the same colour.
  • We are NOT accepting the following at this time:
    • Balls of yarn less than 2 ½ “ in diameter
    • Knitting or crochet needles
    • Knitting or crochet patterns or books
    • Unfinished projects
    • Please do not leave these in the bins.

  • At this time, we can only accept large print books. Please do not bring in any other book or magazine donations.

  • We are NOT accepting puzzle donations at this time.

  • In the past, we have accepted donations for other organizations such as the Food Bank, Mustard Seed, etc. We are NOT accepting donations of food, clothing, or household items at this time.
  • Please watch the newsletter and our website for updates on donated items. We will let you know when we are again in need and we thank you in advance for your kindness.
Spread the love
