The City of Edmonton’s Financial Empowerment Program program is free and confidential.   You can talk with WSAC’s Social Worker about your financial questions and problems. We can connect you with resources and information to help you increase your financial security.

The Financial Empowerment Program is for Edmontonians living on a low income. It can help them connect to the resources​, education and information needed to reach financial stability and security.   The program is free and confidential and provides:

  • A safe, private space to talk about financial challenges and goals

  • Helpful information about financial benefits, subsidies and supports

  • Useful information about basic money management skills needed to make informed financial decisions

  • Referrals to community agencies providing specialized financial information and support services

We can help you:

  • Get ready for tax filing and find free tax filing clinics

  • Learn about the benefits and supports that may apply to you

  • Solve problems and create action plans

  • Access the right support and services

  • Talk about your financial problems at your own speed and comfort level
