On September 2, WSAC gathered friends together to celebrate Alberta’s 115th Birthday.

Attendees came in two separate groups of 40 people each and both enjoyed a hot dog lunch, cake and wonderful entertainment provided by vocalist Jillian Treidler and guitarist Mission Song who played many of their favourite songs.

There was lots of toe-tapping going on and lots of singing along as well behind face masks.

We had a few special guests attend including Minister of Seniors Josephine Pon, MP Kelly McCauley and MLA Jon Carson.

We were also very thankful to have five volunteers from ICAN Seniors assist us with setting up, handing out bags and cleaning up at the end of the event.    They were a great help.

Our sponsors for this event included:

  • Benjamin Moore who donated a great door prize,
  • Save On Foods Mayfield and Save On Foods Hampton Market who donated cakes,
  • Peace Hills Insurance and Plains Insurance who donated swag bags and
  • MP McCauley who generously donated bottle water and a beautiful birthday cake to celebrate the event.

It was a very enjoyable day and gave our members a chance to gather safely and enjoy food, music and comradery.
