APRIL PICKS OF THE MONTH from Aligra Wine & Spirits!
Each month, Alison Philips, co-owner of Aligra Wine & Spirits, and her team will provide us with some tasty suggestions! Many of you will remember Alison as one of our, our Friends of WSAC partners and the wonderful host of our wine tasting events here at our centre that were held in 2020.
Staff Member Jennifer’s Pick: Pike Creek 10 Year Old Canada
Tasting Notes: Have I mentioned how much I like Canadian whisky? It’s innovative, creative and adaptable. Pike Creek is a great example and sits at 42% abv. This one has been aged in rum barrels for 10 years making it sweet enough to sip neat but also great in an old fashioned.
Staff Member Warren’s pick: Dom Fafael Branco Portugal
Tasting Notes: An attractive, fruity blend of Antão Vaz and Arinto, this is crisp, full of apple and lime fruitiness and bright acidity. The aftertaste leaves a bright, tangy freshness. A great Portuguese white wine, enjoy as “sipper” or with sea foods.
Staff Member Gaylene’s Pick: Disaronno Velvet Italian
Tasting Notes: A new product, perfect for those who love creams with an intense aroma: the distinctive taste of the most popular Italian liqueur in the world takes on unexpected nuances. Incredibly smooth, Disaronno Velvet masterfully and harmoniously mixes the distinctive imprinting of classic Disaronno, which has won over generations, leaving its mark with velvety notes.
