Position:  Workshop Assistant

 

SKILLS

You are someone who:

  • Has a passion for woodworking and crafting
  • Has experience using a variety of tools and power tools
  • Are a people person and enjoy helping others

 

DUTIES: 

This volunteer will assist the centre in keeping our workshop safe and accessible to our members. There must always be at least two people in the workshop so that if someone is hurt, the second person can notify staff. 

 

  • available for 2-3 hour regular shifts 1-2 days per week  – Tuesday and Wednesday mornings are currently filled
  • being available in the workshop during scheduled times for our members to drop in and use the space and tools
  • if you are someone who has some skills in repairs or woodworking and are interested in helping others with their projects, that would be a plus as well but is not required
  • we are looking for at least 2 volunteers for this position for different shifts during the week

 

TIME COMMITMENT

  • 2-3 hour shifts 1 to 2 days a week – morning or afternoon
